CrossFit combines constantly varied, high-intensity functional movement with coaching and community. Five principles can make the first months more approachable:
- Forget the stereotypes. Good coaches prioritise safe form and stop athletes from doing more than they can control.
- Do not wait to get in shape. Classes can be scaled for beginners; you do not need to be fit before joining.
- Pick the right box. Visit local gyms, ask questions and choose one whose focus and coaching match your goals.
- Bring the right mindset. Leave ego at the door; CrossFit communities include many ages, backgrounds and ability levels.
- Do not quit too soon. Give the process time to develop, especially through the first 90 days.
